SUMMARY:Paediatric First Aid – Blended Learning course
DESCRIPTION:(eLearning module & 6 hours face to face training)\nHealth & Safety Solutions have developed an excellent interactive elearning module to work alongside its face to face paediatric first aid course (Participants MUST have completed the online module prior to the face to face session).  \nThe paediatric first aid course meets the Ofsted Early Years and Childcare Register requirements. \nDuration: 6 hrs online* then 6hrs with the Trainer face to face. \n*Blended option –  this involves 50% of the course being completed online. We issue the delegate with a  link to our online course and this is then completed individually and at the delegate’s own pace. The delegate will attend one day face to face training to complete the practical element of the training and the Trainer will assess competency. \nCourse content: Be able to provide first aid for an infant and a child:  \n\nwho is unresponsive and breathing normally\, including child and infant resuscitation\nwho is unresponsive and not breathing normally\nwho has suffered a spinal injury\nwho has a foreign body airway obstruction\nwith external bleeding or conditions affecting eye\, ears\, nose\nwith injuries to bones\, joints and muscles.\n\nUnderstand how to administer emergency first aid to an infant and a child with a chronic medical condition or sudden illness: \n\nsickle cell crisis\ndiabetic emergencies\nasthma attack\nallergic reaction (anaphylaxis)\nmeningitis\nfebrile convulsions.\n\nUnderstand how to administer first aid to an infant and a child: \n\nwho is experiencing the effects of extreme heat and cold\nwho has sustained an electric shock\nwith burns or scalds\, stings\, bumps\, grazes\, splinters\, bitten\, poison\n\nCost: £90+vat per person \nInhouse Training\nThis course can also be offered as inhouse training at a date and time convenient to you. \nContact us to find out more.

DESCRIPTION:The Blended Online First Aid at Work training course provides a comprehensive set of practical skills needed by first aiders in most workplaces\, giving both the ability and knowledge to deal with first aid emergencies. It combines online training with face-to-face training. The online section of this course must be completed before attending the face-to-face section. \nPart 1: Online\nThis part of the course is self-directed and is expected to take a day to complete. You can complete the modules at your own pace in your own environment providing you the flexibility you need. The online training must be completed within the 6 weeks prior to your face- to- face training. \nPart 2: Face-to-face (at our training venue) \nDuring the two days you will be in a small group with fellow blended course mates. The two days will be led by a specialist trainer who will teach you about the essential lifesaving skills required for your qualification.
